Participation at the International Confederation of Midwives – ICM Congress in Lisbon
In June, two members of the Department and Chair of Midwifery attended the International Confederation of Midwives – ICM Congress, which took place in Lisbon. The congress represented an important professional, research and educational event in the field of midwifery, bringing together midwives from all areas of practice and from around the world.
Participation in the congress confirms the commitment of the Department and Chair of Midwifery to following contemporary professional and scientific developments, developing high-quality education, and strengthening the professional identity of midwives. The knowledge presented and the discussions held provided insight into current international guidelines, contemporary approaches to midwifery care, pedagogical innovations and research directions, all of which make an important contribution to the further development of the midwifery profession.
An important aspect of participation was the establishment and strengthening of international connections. In this way, the Department and Chair of Midwifery actively contribute to the internationalisation of the study and professional environment, as well as to identifying new opportunities for project-based cooperation in the fields of education, research and the development of midwifery practice.
Participation in the congress therefore represents an important step towards greater international visibility of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as towards connecting with related institutions and developing new professional and project-based collaborations in the field of midwifery.
