The International Summer School entitled Research and evidence-based practice in midwifery will take place at the Faculty of Health Sciences from 6 to 8 May 2024.
will be held in the spirit of international cooperation between three faculties/universities from three countries, namely Slovenia (host), Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
The focus of the international summer school is on the development of research skills through various types of research and experimental activities aimed at strengthening research competences and promoting a scientific way of thinking and acting among midwifery students. The focus is on empowering midwifery students and a 'student-centred' approach that emphasises what students should be able to do and how they can use their knowledge of midwifery research to translate evidence-based findings into midwifery practice and clinical settings.
The programme consists of lectures, workshops, interactive discussions and practical activities in mixed groups. The main aim of the summer school is for students to gain knowledge and experience of research and teamwork in international groups, taking into account the various linguistic, cultural and professional differences, in order to strengthen intercultural competences in addition to learning about midwifery research.
