22. May 2026
The Department of Midwifery is organizing the Erasmus+ Midwifery International Week from 18 to 22 May 2026 in Ljubljana, led by Senior Lecturer Tita Stanek Zidarič, in collaboration with Assist. Prof. Metka Skubic, PhD, and Teaching Assistant Lucija Trojer.
The event is designed for academic staff from partner universities who wish to deepen their understanding of our institution and explore the promotion of mental health and well-being in midwifery education and practice. This year’s central theme — “Mental Health, Vulnerability and Well-being in Midwifery Education and Practice”— will guide a week of discussions, workshops, and collaborative activities focused on building resilient and supportive environments within the midwifery community.
We are especially proud to announce that, running alongside the International Week, the Faculty of Health Sciences will host its first-ever Blended Intensive Program (BIP): Perinatal Mental Health and Midwifery Wellbeing. This milestone program brings together international midwifery students from partner universities for an intensive, collaborative learning experience that combines online and in-person activities. It marks an important step in the Faculty’s commitment to innovative, internationally connected education.
The Erasmus+ Midwifery International Week and our inaugural BIP represent a proud and exciting milestone in the internationalization of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
