This is an elective course that includes both theoretical and practical components.

The course is worth 3 ECTS credits and provides advanced knowledge of evidence-based wound care and the holistic management of patients with acute, complex, and atypical wounds. Topics include wound prevention, wound healing, infection management, debridement, local wound care, advanced treatment approaches, patient education, case management, and documentation.

Students gain an understanding of current clinical guidelines, nursing interventions, and the principles of patient-centred wound management to support safe, effective, and evidence-based practice.

Assessment: Colloquium (30%) and written assignment – case study (70%).

Students gain practical skills to reduce physical strain and apply preventive strategies in clinical settings.

The number of participants is limited to 15 students.
